Can I Visit and Travel in Oman During Ramadan?

Yes, you can visit Oman during Ramadan, but there are a few important things to keep in mind:
No Travel Restrictions: Both Muslim and non-Muslim visitors are welcome in Oman during Ramadan.
Daytime Dining: Most restaurants are closed during fasting hours (dawn to sunset), but some hotel and mall restaurants may offer takeout.
Public Eating & Drinking: Eating, drinking, and smoking in public are legally prohibited for adults. However, non-fasting individuals can do so privately. Modest Dress: Modest clothing is always encouraged but is especially important during Ramadan.
Evening Activities: Shops stay open later, and enjoying Iftar (breaking fast) and Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) is a unique cultural experience.
Best Visiting Times: Avoid visiting public places right at Iftar time, as it is a special moment for families.
While some Ramadan customs in Oman have been influenced by other cultures, the experience remains a beautiful blend of tradition and hospitality.
